Advice Care | You will need: – A bucket – A towel – Water conditioner an Aqua One Magnetic Glass Cleaner Make sure you have all the necessary cleaning aids before you start the siphon. We recommend a bucket and towel incase of spillage, and some Aqua One Water Conditioner to add to the water you will use to refill the tank. Place your Vac-A-Tank 10cm above the level of the gravel, and lower the clear tube into the bucket. As you lower the hose into the bucket get ready to start the siphon. Move your Vac-A-Tank up and down rapidly, to create the siphon. You may need to move it five or six times in order to start the water flow. Caution! once the flow starts remember all you need to do to stop the flow is put your thumb over the end of the hose in the bucket! Once your Vac-A-Tank starts to siphon, you will see some gravel go up to the main body of the cleaner. Do not worry, this gravel will fall back into your tank as the debris is separated from the gravel, and you lift the Vac-A-Tank away from the gravel. Once you have removed 25-30% of the aquarium water refill your aquarium but be sure to add some Aqua One Water Conditioner. Now would also be a good time to use an Aqua One Floating Magnet Glass Cleaner to clean the glass of your tank. Tip: Remove only 25-30% Aquarium water when cleaning your tank, and clean your tank every four weeks. |
